Vintage USA 3/8” LETTERS Stamps Set, NEW/OTHER: This vintage set came out of a 1950’s – 1960’s tool estate that we bought. The stamps have never been used. Most of the stamps are marked “JAS. MATTHEWS & CO”, but some are marked “NMS CO”, “BOKER U.S.A.”,“YB”, “MILLER FALLS” or no name. The wooden box is marked “JAS. MATTHEWS & CO”. A couple of the stamps are a little shorter than others, but the variation is not manufacturer related. One answer to the mixed manufacturers may be that post WWII these stamps were all made in the same foundry. There are 27 stamps and 26 letters and an & stamp. The wooden lid of the box is dovetailed, however there is a piece of wood missing from the front end and the box is cracking from age and storage.
